30 SepMy life is complete

For I’ve been flamed by the infamous nosedog. For this blog no less. Hooray! \o/

And yes, I have severely been neglecting my little mundane corner of the internets. Which doesn’t matter since this is no more than a place for me to procrastinate and vent my inane thoughts and I’ve been such a space cadet lately that I have no inane thoughts to vent. Plus only one person reads it anyway and I’m sure they don’t miss it :P

16 SepThat’s Totally Gay

I have this theory about sexuality being linked to evolution. The short version is -

The majority homosexuals/non-sexuals will not reproduce because they are unable to do so with a partner of the same sex/they have no desire to (of course there are exceptions to both of these). With a portion of the population not reproducing, population levels are maintained without the need to cull the existing population.

Makes sense IMO, and apparently there are boffins out there who agree with me. One reader sent in this great paper to Savage Love about the topic which I found to be in interesting read.

And if you are interested in hearing about the reader lose his anal virginity to his girlfriend and seeing a picture of his arse , the original letter is here.

13 SepMassive Shiny!

As promised, here’s pics of my new car :D

Shiny!

11 SepLazy Bee More Like It

Ok, this time I’ve actually been slacking off. Work has been uber boring and I’ve had little motivation for anything. Well, except for sitting down and watching How I Met Your Mother. I’ve watched the first three seasons this week. Man, I love that show so much and here’s why:

1. It’s totally awesome.
2. I absolutely love Neil Patrick Harris (even if he has the gay) and I think Barney is such a great character.
3. The open titles. I love the way the photos look like your average group of friends on a regular night out. It helps you relate to the characters and situation and gives the show a sense of realism. It also makes me think of my awesome friends and how much I miss them.
4. In 2030, Future Ted is telling the story to his kids of the events leading up to how he met their mother. I like that he refers to his friends as Uncle Marshall, Aunt Lily, etc, which denotes that even 25 years on they are still as close as they ever were. I hope that when I’m older and have kids that me and my friends are still that awesomely close.
5. It’s still totally awesome.

Oh and also, I have my car now. Yay \o/ Pics to come :D

29 AugBusy Little Bee

I’ve been a little slack lately and thought it was time to get another post up. Well, work’s actually been a bit busy and I haven’t had chance to do one. I have a couple of unfinished draft posts that I never got around to completing them.

Things been going ok. Work’s keeping my occupied and my bike is fixed now and I’ve been doing a fair bit of riding. Been logging all my rides and might start posting them on here. Lost a little bit more weight too and I am getting closer to my preliminary goal of 80kg, yay!

I’ve also decided to take an indefinite break from WoW. The time offline while I’ve been covering most of the on-call over the last month has been rather refreshing and I think it will be good for me to have time to focus on other things. Will miss the social aspect of it, but I think it’s worth it.

I have spent a small fortune on getting some more gear for my camera. It won’t make me insta-pro, but I certainly will have a lot of fun with it.

Here’s a pic I took today. This little fellow has a nest out the back of our unit and struts around the field like he owns the place.

Plover

And finally, I am getting my car next weekend. Afta’s folks are taking a few days to drive it up from Sydney and are making a bit of a trip of it. I am super excited :D

18 AugBizarre Dreams

I had a dream last night where Gene Hunt from Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes and Mickey Webb from The Bill were partners. They were investigating the murder of Australian cricketer Brett Lee in Barcaldine, Qld and got drunk on a bottle of Maker’s Mark that they found at the crime scene, which turned out to be the murder weapon.

Seriously, wtf?

16 AugThe Lovely Mister Image

Tim

Introducing my handsome Afta – isn’t he a spunk? I got to catch up with him this weekend in Brisbane, as he was picking up the Liberty. We had the most wonderful day together. We had lunch with my sister, spent a little time with Kat and James, went out for a nice romantic meal together and spent the rest of the evening chatting. It is a shame that he had to leave for Sydney so early this morning but I must be thankful for what time we get to spend together. And it’s only a matter of time before I get to be with him for real :D

BTW – the new car is awesome!

13 AugFor something different…

…here’s a sketch! I did it today at work on a Post-it and colourised it a little in Photoshop for added drama.

It pretty much sums up how I feel some days – that I fail at every aspect of life, including ending it. That, or someone out there has a serious case of schadenfreude.

13 AugWhatever, Greg!

I’ve been watching this really great show on ABC called ‘Whatever!‘. It’s a documentary about the science behind how teenage minds work. Last week’s episode was about Sex which was pretty interesting. There was this older female Indian doctor on there talking about the chemistry behind love, lust and sex, and she was a real hoot. She was explaining about how the brain is the primary reproductive organ and said, ‘primary sexual organ between ears not between legs.’ I tried tellling this to my friend, Greg.

‘Tari: Your brain is your primary reproductive organ, it controls the rest of them.
Greg: Lies. Why do people keep telling me to stop thinking with my dick that or stop being a smart arse?
‘Tari: Since when was your arse a sexual organ?

My boys make me /facepalm some days.

13 AugFor Kate

Dear Kate,

Seeing as how you are like the only person who reads my blog, I thought I’d put up a special surprise for you.

It is 2 am and I am doing what any normal person does at such a time, browsing the internets. I’ve been doodling about with Morphthing, because I can’t sleep. I initially started off with creating creepy spawn of Kat and James, since the whole thing was originally inspired by this disturbing shit that Kat posted on Facebook, but have since extended onto other peoples.

I know that you are keen to start a family, so I thought a little inspiration would help keep the dream alive. Here is what your baby would look like if you were to mate with Adam.

I lol’d.
